The Academy for Innovative and Sustainable Light Steel Frame (LSF) Construction, or AISLC, has held a graduation ceremony to celebrate the fantastic achievements of its first cohort of students.
On 18 March 2023, 60 successful students of the Academy were honored at a graduation ceremony to celebrate their incredible achievements. These students, the very first cohort of the AISLC Academy (February 2022 intake) have all received their NVQ diplomas, which are internationally accredited by the NOCN in the UK. This means that students are able to find gainful employment not only in Rwanda, but in any of the Commonwealth countries.
The Academy also celebrated the achievement of being the first NOCN-accredited training centre in Rwanda, with internationally-qualified assessors.
ADHI and the AISLC were honored to receive as guests to the graduation ceremony several esteemed GoR guests, including the Mayor of Kigali City, Pudence Rubingisa; Minister of State in charge of TVET, Claudette Irere (both pictured left); and Minister of Infrastructure, Ernest Nsabimana.
Also attending the ceremony and meeting with several of the students was UK Home Secretary, Suella Braverman (pictured below). Ms Braverman personally congratulated the students on their achievements and also had the opportunity to tour the Bwiza Riverside Estate development to view first-hand the quality construction produced by these same students.
The AISLC Academy is currently training more students and looks forward to them also achieving their diplomas. The Academy also offers several “crash courses” in light steel framing and other relevant industry topics, such as sustainability in construction.
